Providing consultation services on incorporating Lasers and CadCam technologies into dental offices.
Dr. Jennifer Matthews DMD

My passion for dentistry began in high school, where I discovered a love for both science and creativity. Whether through crafts, painting, or sewing, I enjoyed working with my hands, and I was always drawn to beautiful smiles. Dentistry became the perfect blend of artistry and medicine, offering both creativity and fulfillment.

After graduating from UBC Dental School in 1988, I built my practice from the ground up. With a lifelong interest in technology, I became an early adopter of dental lasers, introducing my first all-tissue Erbium laser (Waterlase MD) in 2005. The impact on my practice was transformative. By 2006, I had incorporated several diode lasers, followed by CAD/CAM same-day dentistry with CEREC in 2008.

Over the years, my passion for technology continued to grow. I added additional Erbium lasers, including Fotona LightWalker dual-wavelength systems, upgraded to newer Biolase technology, and expanded my diode laser capabilities. I also developed a special interest in photobiomodulation and its role in healing and recovery, utilizing multiple THOR laser systems and a Novothor whole-body light therapy canopy.

By 2025, my fully digital practice included two Primescans, two milling units, a Primeprint, and CBCT imaging. My creative side continued to thrive through custom chairside staining, painting, and firing of restorations. Professionally, I achieved Mastership status with the World Clinical Laser Institute (WCLI) and Fellowship status with the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD). As a CEREC mentor since 2009, I have completed hundreds of hours of advanced continuing education through the Scottsdale Center in Arizona.

Throughout my career, I found that lasers and CAD/CAM dentistry work seamlessly together, enhancing patient care while reigniting the artistry of dentistry. After 38 years of building and successfully transitioning a thriving practice, I stepped away from clinical dentistry to begin a new chapter in consulting. Today, I help dental practices successfully integrate laser and CAD/CAM technologies, demonstrating how these powerful tools can improve efficiency, increase return on investment, and renew passion for the profession.
